Background
Monkey Bridge Arts was originally founded by Sheila McNellis Asato in 1994 in Urayasu, Japan. In November, 2005, Monkey Bridge was opened in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
Monkey Bridge Arts derives its name from an image found in Asian art, folk stories and songs.
It is said that monkeys are able to link themselves together to form a living bridge that can span even the deepest ravines. By grasping each others hands and feet, these clever monkeys are able to reach for goals that might otherwise be impossible to accomplish alone.
Mission
Monkey Bridge Arts is dedicated to creating bridges of peace, understanding, and compassion between people and their inner- most selves through art, dreaming and creative development.
